Treat Me Like Somebody- Kimberly Pacheco

Treat Me Like Somebody
It was a hot summer day with
my friends lying down with the hot blanket and hearing some songs. Then my friend Erika came with chips like takis the big kind and with some drinks for all of us.She also told us that her sister introduced her with a new song.No one had an idea what kind it was.We all wanted to hear this song,Erika told us to put it’’treat me like somebody’’ we all love it and that how I was introduced to the song.Tink was born on March 18,1995 in Chicago. Her real name is Trinity when she was younger and she change it when she became a pop star.Tink started to sing when she was small at the age 5 in church.Tink was into songwriting at the age 12 she also loved English and writing and one of Tinks role models is TLC, Alicia Keys and the Da Bratt. One of Tink’s album is the winter diary was released in 2014 at the same timeas treat me like somebody.Tink uses rhyme and loaded language through the song to convey the important message that don't give up on love just keep looking for the one By using loaded language Tink helps her listeners understand that don't give up on love just keep looking for the one .In verse two,Tinks talks about wanting the quality over the quantity from relationship when Tink sing ‘’ I'd rather have quality than quantity’’ ‘’rate-4’’ in line this Tink uses the word quantity which its means the amount of love you really want, to convey quantity attitude towards someone you love. This reveals the theme that dont give up not love just keep looking for the one because not everyone is perfect in love just find the one that is right for you.Tink uses rhyme to help convey her message to not give up on love.In version 1,Tink talks about finding someone that she love but she keeps losing her time because when Tink sing ‘’somebody is real is hard to find somebody worth all your time.’’ (‘’Treat” 1-2). By rhyming ‘’fine with time,”Tink is connecting to time and that it is really hard to find a person in the right time. This  reveals the theme that don't give up on love just keep finding for the one because everyone is going to find the right person that is worth running with her or him. While Tink succeed in conveying a powerful and an important message to hers listener.Tink the vocals left much to be desired.Tinks opens the song with a hook which repeat multiple times throughout the song.
‘’Somebody real is hard to fine
Somebody is worth all your time
Somebody who can tell you the truth
Somebody who loves you for you ‘’ ‘’ Someone 1-2’’
This strengthens the song by repeating ‘’somebody’’ with her own life.
One weakness of Tink is that she over uses Somebody to not assume that is not her own experience.Tink sings ‘’Someone who know all of your flaws and does not impose’’(‘’Treat’’1-2).This weakens the song because she doesn't put herself she put someone else but her.

It is clear that Tink uses two literary devices to convey her theme “don’t give up on love just keep looking for the one”.The topic of love is important because everyone is going to find someone that they love. I recommend this song to people that are hurt from a break up and they should stand  back up again keep going and show to people that you are not sad.

  1. This review was written pretty well. I like the song you chose. One glow is that the message is really good and you choose good lines that support it. One grow is to maybe try to focus more on punctuation and spelling/grammar.
